Digital Native

Two recent books, "Born Digital" by John Palfrey and Urs Gasser and "Crowdsourcing" by Jeff Howe focus on a group defined by a new term, "Digital Native". Palfrey and Gasser define Digital Nature as "a person born after 1980 (when social digital technologies, such as Usenet and bulletin board systems, came online) who has access to networked digital technologies and strong computer skills and knowledge. Digital Natives share a common global culture that is not stricly defined by age but by certain attributes and experiences related to how they interact with information technologies, information itself, one another, and other people and institutions." (p 346 and 1).

This sounds great -- but, other than the birthdate, I fit that definition -- do I have to be naturalized? -- and, if so, how do I do so?
